• Maintain and improve/automate/digitize as needed, the Quality Control Management System (QCMS) to manage product quality and conformance in accordance with JDE guidelines and product specifications.

Laboratory & Incoming

• Supervise, monitor and assure quality of incoming raw materials, in-process product & end product in accordance to product specifications & customer requirements.

• Assist to co-ordinate new product developments with R&D in terms of formulation of products.  
• Documentations, involved verifying Quality Control Record.
• Supervise and ensure in issues related to safety and quality.
• Assist to co-ordinate & oversee quality checking activities inclusive of food safety.
• To assist Quality inspectors, Checkers to carry out quality inspection.
• Housekeeping of the lab.
• To perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Management.

Quality Check & Outgoing

• Inspect and record timely of all results in quality records.
• Responsible for line inspection to ensure production operation and process are in accordance with the required standard.
• Highlights non-conformance of production operation, semi process and finish products promptly to related personnel for immediate corrective actions.
• To control process deviation and eliminate the cause of quality products thus reducing unnecessary wastage.
• To carry out hygiene inspection and highlight any inadequacies.
• Carry out lab testing from incoming of raw material to finish products.

The PLM Specialist is part of the team responsible for the maintenance of the PLM system within APAC and will support the implementation of the new PLM Software.  You will be responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data and be the first point of contact for data-related questions in your field.  You will work closely with R&D developers and PLM users to maintain PLM data flow throughout the specification lifecycle, enrich data, provide feedback to users and drive system improvement.  You are the PLM data custodian, and thanks to your action, the PLM system is trustworthy and data used as a strategic R&D asset.

This requires technical rigor, attention to detail and a relentless drive for completion with excellence. This role plays a critical role in the maintenance, protection and utilisation of a critical R&D asset (our recipe know-how and IP).  This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures related to specifications, leveraging best in class practices throughout all R&D activities and helping to support speed to market.

• Support the implementation of the new PLM Software, user acceptance test and user support

• Ensure successful migration of the data into the new PLM software: migration, validation, completeness.

• Collaborate with specification creators within your area of responsibility, to guarantee the completeness and accuracy of product data until product retirement

• Ensure the maintenance of the product data (new data entry, parameter updates, new requirements)

• Monitor data quality periodically, raise gaps and coordinate issue resolution. 

• With guidance from manager, drive PLM system continuous improvement (design, workflow, data quality)

• Support PLM users about data extraction and reporting

• Act as data custodian and make PLM the system loved by the users and fun.

• Communicate and support best practice PLM completion with APAC applications teams for all categories.

• Reports to Manager on a weekly basis highlighting risks/issues and resolution plans

Responsibilities/ Key Activities:

• Making sure the ingredients used is on-going maintained Halal status by maintaining valid Halal certificates from suppliers.
• Uphold plant Halal practices.
• Conduct periodic Halal Committee meeting.
• Conduct periodic Halal checks at the shopfloor and related facilities.
• Connect with Jabatan Agama Islam for Halal renewal and consultation matters.
• Make timely Halal certificate renewal.
• Maintain and implement HAS Manual requirement for Johor MU.
• Support NPD and substitution ingredients Halal certificate applications
• Support any Halal requirement by customer.
• Involve new product regulatory and existing ingredients, semi FG and FG specification compliance check on periodic basis

Responsibilities/ Key Activities:

Regulatory Affairs

• Accountable to monitor the new / changes in South East Asia Regulatory requirements (including industry trends & practices), inform Internal Stakeholders and adapt Regulatory strategies accordingly and timely.
• Represents JDE as an Expert on respective Local Industry Associations, Scientific Institutions and Government bodies in collaboration with SARA Team Leads and/or R&D Lead.
• Stay abreast of emerging scientific issues and legislation changes.

Regulatory Compliance

• Regularly prepares, approves and issues labelling specifications to meet business needs and timelines for the local and foreign markets by following and using effectively JDE & SARA agreed processes and tools.
• Conducts accurate label compliance reviews, such as proposing legal designations and acceptable claims wording, considering local Business requests and Legal feedback.
• Provides legal and accurate ingredients line and nutrition data for food product labels.
• Assures implementation of correct graphic design, and able to advise and guide team members on artwork design elements via CopyDeck and Syncforce processes.
• Assures implementation of correct techno-legal label information and JDE standards, e.g. allergen labelling and claims.
• Provides regulatory guidance on compositional requirements to R&D, e.g. checks for acceptable ingredients and their legal limits in recipes.
• Timely reviews and approves new raw materials and product specifications for regulatory compliance in local and other countries, including checking product recipes, nutrition data,  allergens information and promotional materials to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• When Halal is concern, able to provide compliance guidance to the Stakeholders.

Regulatory Submissions

• Support the Supply Chain Team in preparing the regulatory documents, including for product registrations, variations, renewals and responses to regulatory queries, in accordance with local requirements.

Scientific Support

• Provide scientific expertise and support to cross functional teams in areas such as Product Development, Market Research, Quality, Operations and Customer Experience.

Training and Education

• Conduct training sessions and provide educational materials to internal stakeholders to enhance understanding of Regulatory requirements and promote compliance culture.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including R&D Product Team, Packaging & D2P, Regional Quality & Food Safety, Marketing, and Legal, to facilitate regulatory compliance and achieve business objectives, regularly.

The Asia R&D Packaging Specialist combines project management skills with a broad and deep understanding of his/her field of expertise. The Asia R&D Packaging Specialist integrates technological knowledge and business relevance, balancing new technological opportunities with operational consequences to ensure creation of viable new opportunities for JDE.

The Asia R&D Packaging Specialist has a hands-on approach, executing internal and external laboratory simulation trial/test, small and big scale plant trial, transit/transportation trial or to support others as well as providing thought leadership and applying their academic knowledge to JDE.

The Asia R&D Packaging Specialist sit within all categories and functions within R&D, e.g., Product/Process and Packaging, Application Centers, Science and Technology, Quality and Food Safety, SARA, Consumer Inspired Innovation.

Responsibilities/ Key Activities:

• Accountable for leading and/or support NPD / Productivity / Process Development / Packaging project as approved by the business – supports planning and set-up for several R&D projects, also given opportunity as project leader.
• Accountable to execute and/or support R&D projects within the aim to deliver new knowledge, skill and production capabilities that are essential for NPD or productivity projects aligned with line manager. Responsibility including contribution to current NPD / Productivity project as R&D team member.
• Tasks include (but not limited to): defining and leading internal and external laboratory simulation, small and big scale plant trial, collecting experimental data, writing technical reports and SOPs, developing prototypes, issuing technical drawings, material selection, defining packaging functional specification and finished goods specifications including pallet configuration and container loading configurations.
