Primary Responsibilities

Marketing Management

• Develops a public relations program for the hotel based on its marketing goals. Liaises with Marketing in targeting specific markets and developing the public relations strategies to reach these markets
• Develops media contacts, plans press conferences and other press activities. Acts as hotel’s liaison with media to promote good publicity and counteract bad publicity.
• Develops and organizes promotional activities, coordinates with departments concerned; invites VIPs and media to promotional activities; prepares and issues press releases
• Establishes sales leads from the study of magazines, newspapers and form personal contacts; coordinates sales leads with Banqueting and Sales Departments
• Disseminates corporate press releases to appropriate local trade and consumer media
• Establishes a program for sending promotional news to trade publications on a regular basis releases covering special events, promotions, etc.
• Prepares promotional press releases on personalities among guests and employees of the hotel and on newsworthy events in the hotel
• Provides information to other departments on activities within and outside the hotel which may be useful when dealing with guests
• Accepts clients and media complaints, requests, and inquiries and coordinates handling with departments concerned
• Coordinates all activities with the Sales Manager
• Maintains good public relations by extending personalized service to VIPs. e.g. following up on reservations for VIPs, assisting in greeting VIPs and groups upon their arrival, sending welcome letter to VIP guests
• Coordinates guest lists and invitations for VIP receptions, luncheons, dinners, etc.
• Maintains clipping files pertaining to the hotel(s) based on daily perusal of the media and provides same to General Manager, other departments, other hotels, corporate public relations, as appropriate
• Maintains mailing list/contact file
• Maintains hotel photo file
• Liaises with Human Resource Manager on matters affecting corporate image
• Develop hotel gifts and giveaways
• Builds profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market place

• To supervise the maintenance of a mailing list consisting of a record of former and existing clients of the hotel.
• To organize regular visits by professional persons from the media and members of the trade to the hotel.
• To present a summary of visits to the General Manager and Director of Sales & marketing on a regular basis.
• To attend all official functions as a representative of the hotel.
• To greet all VIP guests of the hotel.
• To ensure that stationary and printed items are standardized and conforms to the MERCURE standards.
• To closely coordinate social events in the hotel.
• To closely observe matters pertaining to PR activities of the hotel and other hotels (competitors) on a regular basis.

• You will actively monitor and report key supply chain metrics, identifying and addressing any issues that could impact delivery timelines or service levels. Risk management, including overseeing compliance with import/export regulations, will be critical in this role. In addition, you will evaluate vendor capabilities, develop plans to mitigate risks, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, cost management, and innovation.

• You will build strong relationships with CMs, 3PLs, and carriers to foster continuous improvement and operational excellence. From time to time, you will visit vendors to ensure alignment on expectations, resolve performance issues, and maintain high standards across the supply chain.

• You will collaborate with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to align freight plans with production schedules, holding them accountable for performance metrics and ensuring the accuracy of shipping documentation, such as invoices and bills of lading. Job Brief:

 The Senior Actuarial Manager will serve as the Actuarial Reporting Lead for the organisation (including its related groups of companies), primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the actuarial valuation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance activities. This role will require a strong grasp of actuarial principles, financial analysis, and insurance regulations in Malaysia. The candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams, to ensure accurate and timely reporting. 

Job Responsibilities:

Actuarial Valuation & Financial Reporting

•  Lead the preparation and delivery of actuarial valuations, including claims liability and premium liability for the organisation.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc actuarial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee the production of actuarial input for financial statements, ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on valuation results and actuarial analysis.

Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure all reporting complies with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations and other relevant actuarial guidelines, e.g. Financial Condition Report (FCR) and other statutory reports.
• Stay updated on changes in local and international regulations and ensure actuarial processes align with regulatory expectations.
• Liaise with regulators and auditors to address any queries or issues.

• Data & Model Management
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used for actuarial valuations and reporting.
• Lead the development, calibration, and enhancement of actuarial models for valuation and forecasting purposes.
• Implement data governance standards and work closely with IT teams to improve the quality and accessibility of actuarial data.

Risk Management:

• Provide actuarial analysis and insights to support the company’s risk management processes, including stress testing, capital adequacy assessments, and solvency requirements under the Risk-Based Capital Framework (RBC).
• Develop and implement processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of actuarial models used in risk assessment and reporting.

Strategic Contributions

• Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing actuarial insights on pricing, underwriting performance, and product development.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

Professional Qualifications: Preferably a fellow of a recognized actuarial professional body (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Actuaries Institute (Australia), Society of Actuaries, or equivalent)

Experience: At least 7 years of experience in the general insurance industry, including at least 2 – 3 years of experience in people and project management

Subject Matter Expert: At least 3 core Actuarial areas in General/ Health (Re)Insurance including IFRS17, ERM, Capital Modelling, Reinsurance, Regulatory Reporting (Valuation, FCR, ICAAP, RBC) etc

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Account retention, Strategic responsibilities:

• Continually seek improvement in procedures and services to create more efficient and cost effective operations.
• Continually search for and implement cost savings within Expeditors (whether through efficiencies or hard cost savings).
• Design and manage QBR process with account input. Maintain and participate in scheduled QBRs locally.
• Manage schedule of global QBRs when applicable. Consolidate data from global QBRs.
• Involve Branch Managers or Key Department Managers in the QBR process.
• Facilitate communication amongst all key contacts and all related Expeditors contacts.
• Facilitate cooperation and positive working relationship with 3rd party vendors
• Communicate technology updates and tools proactively.

Account retention, Tactical responsibilities:

• Maintain all account rates and tariffs.
• Keep rates fresh and manage yields on a monthly basis.
• Coordinate RFQs and rate requests.
• Ensure the branches file ATS and advise TLI number.
• Distribute rate information as needed within the Expeditors network timely.
• Provide clear instructions on operational requirements so that branches can construct their DLSOPs.
• Ensure branches are maintaining / updating DLSOPs.
• Make sure all Expeditors branches are aware of account key contacts in their location. 
• Email distribution backed with quarterly conference calls are the preferred method.
• Assist and support all Expeditors in-house operations representatives based at the Corporate Account.
• Establish and direct all reports required to evaluate Expeditors performance.
• Establish target performance metrics with the account.
• Ensure that a functioning and agreed upon invoicing - payment process is in place. Make sure this is included in the DLSOP.
• If a third party payment center is involved, ensure process flow and contacts for escalation is in place in DLSOP.
• Assist with collections on past dues over 30 days.
• Provide assistance in resolution of regional claims and disputes.
• Set up Management reports to ensure global consistency and data integrity.

Account development, Strategic responsibilities:

• Continually search for and implement cost savings for your client by improving processes and eliminating waste.
• Establish, maintain and review account objectives through the use of an annual business plan reviewed quarterly with Corporate Sponsor and key personnel.
• Identify opportunities and keep Teamsell updated accordingly.

Account development, Tactical responsibilities:

• Travel when necessary within region to branch offices, customer field offices, and account customers to resolve issues, review branch operating procedures, and maintain customer information and satisfaction. International travel as required.
• Update key customer contacts with industry information through newsflashes, insights and global news that directly affect them.
• Maintain lines of communication with all key contacts – locally, regionally or internationally – as needed within account’s organization.
• Maintain a thorough client organizational chart with all key contacts showing responsibilities and role (i.e.; decision maker, influencer, advocate, coach)
• Ensure advanced notice of service irregularities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, adhering to scope, schedule, and budget, while maintaining safety and quality standards in line with project specifications and contractual obligations.
• Drive project optimization strategies to reduce costs through detailed budget planning and value engineering initiatives.
• Oversee and guide project progress to meet financial targets and support the achievement of corporate objectives key results.
• Establish robust reporting systems for the team, providing regular updates on project progress and performance.
• Develop, supervise, and review designs for commercial and industrial-scale solar systems, covering electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects of the projects.
• Collaborate with the design team to validate engineering designs, determining the optimal locations for DC & AC equipment, works, and tie-in with the existing electrical system.
• Provide technical expertise in the review and preparation of proposals, actively engaging in customer and internal stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead technical direction throughout the project, from kickoff and execution to delivery, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
• Implement strategies to enhance ERP system, performance dashboard, and other project management tools to improve efficiency and project oversight.
• Recommend appropriate technologies based on site-specific factors, including geographic conditions, to optimize project performance.

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in Solar, Electrical or Construction industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project and ERP System
• Involves occasional travel to project sites, which may include critical phases such as client's interconnection shutdown activities.
